About Us

Companion Pets of Cleveland is a dedicated non-profit organization based in Northeast Ohio, passionately committed to ensuring that pets and their families stay together through difficult times. Since our founding, we’ve provided crucial support to pets and pet owners who face economic challenges.

Our Mission

Our mission is to alleviate the financial burden of pet care by providing pet food, supplies, and access to necessary veterinary resources, ensuring that pets are well-fed, healthy, and happy in their homes.

What We Do

Pet Food Assistance: We provide limited, need-based pet food assistance to help families care for their pets during times of financial hardship. Our goal is to help pets stay fed and remain in safe, loving homes.
Veterinary Assistance: We help connect pet owners with affordable veterinary care and provide financial assistance when possible. This includes support for spay and neuter services through our Spay It Forward program, as well as assistance with other essential medical needs.
Community Clinics & Services: In partnership with trusted providers, we host free and low-cost community clinics and services that help reduce barriers to routine care. These include vaccination clinics through VIP Petcare and nail trim clinics with Grooming Easy.
Rescue and Rehabilitation: We rescue and rehabilitate dogs from puppy mills and other adverse conditions, providing medical care, training, and foster placement until they are ready for permanent, loving homes. Cats and kittens are assisted on a case-by-case basis.

Our Impact

We have distributed over 68,000 pounds of pet food since 2020 and facilitated countless veterinary care visits, supported by a robust network of volunteers, donors, and community partners.

2025 Stats

In 2025, we deepened our commitment to keeping pets healthy, fed, and in loving homes across Northeast Ohio.

Last year alone, we supported a growing community of pet owners caring for:

2,762 cats

and

2,129 dogs

These numbers represent the pets currently served through our programs and the families who rely on us for ongoing support.

Throughout 2025, we provided critical nutrition assistance through the distribution of dry and wet food tailored for dogs, puppies, cats, and kittens, expanded access to preventive veterinary care through VIP Petcare vaccination clinics, and continued reducing barriers to spay and neuter services through our Spay It Forward program.

Beyond food and medical care, we also facilitated adoptions into safe, permanent homes and supported routine wellness through nail trim clinics, helping pets stay comfortable and families stay connected to essential services.
