At Companion Pets of Cleveland, we believe that every cat deserves a chance to live a healthy, safe, and fulfilling life. Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) is a proven, humane method to manage and care for feral and stray cat populations in our communities. This page provides essential information, resources, and guidance to help you take part in this important effort.
What is TNR?
TNR is a community-based practice in which feral and stray cats are humanely trapped, spayed or neutered, and then returned to their outdoor homes. This approach helps:
- Prevent unwanted litters.
- Reduce overpopulation.
- Improve the health and quality of life for outdoor cats.
- Minimize nuisance behaviors, such as fighting or spraying.
Why TNR Matters
Without intervention, stray and feral cats face challenges like overpopulation, disease, and lack of resources. TNR helps create stable, manageable colonies while reducing the number of cats entering shelters or being euthanized. It’s a win-win for cats and the community.
